In 2020, there were approximately 2.3 million newly diagnosed breast cancer cases and 685,000 breast cancer deaths worldwide, making breast cancer the most frequently diagnosed cancer. Many genetic, environment, and lifestyle habits have been identified as risk factors for the development of breast cancer. In turn, numerous organizations have promoted effective breast cancer prevention and awareness. While advances in treatment continue to be made, early detection remains an important strategy to improve outcomes.
