The majority of patients with M genitalium infection experience no symptoms. However, bleeding between menstrual periods can be experienced by women with M genitalium infection. Additional symptoms in women may include vaginal discharge, pelvic pain, painful intercourse, and postcoital bleeding.
Men also may experience symptoms, including penile irritation and pain, dysuria, and discharge from the urethra.
