Patients with TD may have slower writhing or "choreoathetoid" movements (as opposed to rapid muscle movements or tics that are seen in other disorders, such as Tourette syndrome). Akinesia and rigidity are most often seen in patients with Parkinsonism, whereas dyskinetic movements are seen in TD.
