As with breast cancer metastasis to other locations, spread to the lungs may initially be asymptomatic. Shortness of breath that may be subtle and only upon exertion is the most common first symptom. Other symptoms include:

  • A persistent cough

  • Chest pain

  • Repeated infections (eg, bronchitis, pneumonia)

  • Extreme fatigue

  • Coughing blood

  • Wheezing

  • Hoarseness

  • Weight loss
