SSRIs are the most common medication-associated cause of FSIAD/HSDD. Sexual dysfunction is noted to occur in up to 56% of female patients taking SSRIs. The majority of women who discontinue SSRIs cite side effects of sexual dysfunction as a major reason for doing so.
Acetaminophen, NSAIDs, vitamins D and B12, and cephalosporin, macrolide, and quinolone antibiotics are not implicated in FSIAD/HSDD.
