#1 Clinical Trend: Gonorrhea Treatment
In 2012, the CDC issued a warning that only gonorrhea was becoming increasingly resistant to antibiotics. In response, researchers at the University of Alabama Birmingham have begun testing solithromycin (Cempra®) as a new treatment for gonorrhea with encouraging results. Hopefully, physicians will soon have a new tool with which to confront this condition.
